"Technology should not be knowledge's database"

Welcome

Picture
Man= walking technology.
     On this site, you will find information about the negative effects of technologies within classrooms; and why you should join my efforts to stop future generations from being dependent on education. I am informing the public on this topic because I feel like technology is stealing the need to retain knowledge from students. I feel that the students in years to come will not actually learn until they reach the collegiate level. I have noticed in the past couple of years that students without the dedication to learn and acquire knowledge for them to succeed in the future will repeatedly come short of the marker of reaching the collegiate level.

Position

Books are the data base for all learning.
        My position is that technology has become a bailout for students in the classroom. So that hard work can be diverted while still maintaining acceptable grades. The will to learn and retained knowledge should be present in all classrooms, but instead has been replaced by technology, and can be effectively determined by evaluating technology’s influence on teachers, entertainment, and usage in and out the classroom.

      In hopes that my position will be adopted, I feel it is important to provide data, facts, charts, and numbers to back up the claims I make to try to persuade throughout this website. The intended goal is to provide enough information to show that less technological devices need to be accessible to the youth. I will also explain the details of the facts and articles I present throughout the website. While reading through this site, you will find a lot of explanation and description of my quotes, paraphrases, and summarizes of scholarly articles to effectively convey my message.

Critical Thinking

        In my research, I have found out that technology has a large effect on the minds our society. In the Science Daily,  Professor Patricia Greenfield,of UCLA who specializes in psychology and did an intense study of the effects of technology on our minds, was referenced to in an authors search to find out if technology is producing a decline in critical thinking and analysis. Greenfield illustrates that she is very knowledgeable on the subject by making the claim that , "As technology has played a bigger role in our lives, our skills in critical thinking and analysis have declined, while our visual skills have improved" (ScienceDaily).
